Senior Client Support Specialist - Part-Time and Extra-Help
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, Senior Client Support Specialists gather initial information for evaluation to develop and implement crisis/urgent intervention and treatment plans. Working in close collaboration with licensed staff, Senior Client Support Specialists provide a variety of case management and rehabilitation support services to adult and juvenile clients, including transportation, placement assistance, advocacy, referrals, and assistance with daily living and other client support services. In youth services, these positions facilitate collaborative treatment planning meetings with clients, family members, service providers, and other members of the youth's support network. Additionally, Senior Client Support Specialists collaborate with other client-serving agencies to ensure the most supportive environment for each client. Some assignments may require the ability to work irregular hours and days.
The ideal candidates will possess:
- Experience working with high-risk populations and individuals diagnosed with mental illness and/or substance use disorders
- Experience providing mental health outreach services in a community setting, including advocacy, information and referral, case management, and crisis intervention
- A proven track record of working with evidence-based practices
- Familiarity with recovery philosophy and trauma-informed care
- The ability to thrive in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Prior success at establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with all stakeholders, including families and consumers
EXTRA-HELP EMPLOYMENT
Extra-help employees relieve or augment permanent staff. Temporary, extra-help employees are not in the classified civil service and do not have property rights to permanently allocated positions. In addition, they do not receive most employee benefits such as: long-term disability insurance coverage; accrual of vacation; participation in the County retirement program; or eligibility to take promotional examinations. Temporary, extra-help employees are limited in their employment to a maximum of one calendar year. These employees must be off of work for three months before they can be re-employed on an extra help basis. Extra-help employees who meet the eligibility requirements may qualify for a County contribution toward medical coverage.
This recruitment is being conducted to fill one part-time (20 hours per week) position and one temporary, extra-help position in the Department of Health Services. This employment list may also be used to fill part-time or extra-help (temporary) positions as they occur during the active status of the list.
