Starting salary up to $25.18/hour ($52,553/year) plus a cash allowance of approximately $600/month*
The Regional Parks Department is seeking qualified applicants for multiple Park Ranger Assistant positions that will:
- Engage with the public to promote visitor safety and protection of park resources
- Collect and report on park day-use and camping fees
- Assist visitors in complying with park rules
- Perform park maintenance and janitorial work
- Assign and direct Park Aide staff
- Maintain and monitor park natural resources
- Assist with special park events and festivals
Work locations may vary, and candidates should be available to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and irregular hours. An applicant's flexibility in work days and work hours is highly desirable. Park Ranger Assistants are required to wear a County issued uniform and they receive a voucher towards the purchase of safety boots.

- A passion to preserve, protect, and provide access to Sonoma County's parks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The organization skills necessary to manage multiple priorities
- An ability to be self-motivated and goal-oriented
- An ability to lead and motivate a team of field staff
- Valid Basic First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and Emergency Cardiac Care cards
