The Deputy Agricultural Commissioner administers and directs one or more agricultural programs to protect the agricultural and horticultural industries of the County, safeguard the environment, and protect the health and safety of agricultural workers and the public. The Deputy Agricultural Commissioner provides direction to Agricultural Biologist/Standards Specialists; and performs inspections in the enforcement of federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including the State Food and Agricultural Code, California Code of Regulations, Code of Federal Regulations, Uniform Fire Code, Sonoma County Ordinances, and the State Health and Safety Code.

The Department of Agriculture/Weights & Measures
The Agricultural Division is dedicated to delivering services that effectively promote and protect agriculture, the economy, community, environment, and the health and safety of our citizens through education and the enforcement of laws and regulations, resulting in sustainable agriculture and equity in the marketplace. The Department of Agriculture/Weights & Measures also oversees and administers the County's grading and draining ordinance and provides staff support to the Fish and Wildlife Commission.
