The Sonoma County Economic Development Board is seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to serve as their Broadband Department Analyst.

Starting salary up to $40.47/hour ($84,465/year) plus a cash allowance of approximately $600/month*

The Broadband Department Analyst will work with County of Sonoma representatives and local government partners to facilitate the governance and development of policy to further the advancement of broadband deployments throughout the County. Responsibilities include:
  • Developing preferred scenarios for broadband deployment in unserved communities on a case by case basis
  • Identifying grant eligible projects and administering awarded grant funds
  • Advocating for broadband-related legislation and programs
  • Participating in state and federal broadband proceedings
  • Responding to calls and emails from residents and businesses requesting help in identifying short-term and long-term broadband solutions
  • Coordinating community engagement and stakeholder meetings
The ideal candidate will possess thorough knowledge of and experience working in the following areas:
  • Past, current, and evolving broadband technologies; state and national telecommunications providers and services offered
  • Broadband adoption activities such as digital inclusion partners, broadband access and digital literacy projects, low broadband adoption communities, and local entities eligible for broadband adoption grant funding
  • State and Federal broadband grant programs, as well as Federal grants web-based management processes
  • State and federal legislative processes
