We are seeking an experienced tax professional to join our thriving tax and consulting practice.
Brush Bernard is a highly respected, forward thinking firm located in Healdsburg,
- Located in the heart of wine country, our client base includes wineries, vineyard/farming, construction, real estate, manufacturing, service industries, as well as high net worth individuals, and a great group of individual clients representative of Healdsburg and the surrounding areas.
We are looking for a manager level professional who will work directly with the partners to provide tax, consulting, and accounting services to our wide range of clients. Our firm is actively expanding and we are looking for a someone who is interested in growing with us. Ideally, this position will grow into an opportunity to be an owner in a small firm where you can make a great living while maintaining a reasonable work/life balance.

The tax manager will initially be preparing and reviewing tax returns for the partners. You will eventually become the primary contact for many of these clients and gain access to the firm’s strong referral network. Our firm can afford to be selective when adding new clients giving you the opportunity to build a client base best suited to your areas of expertise.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience working with individual and entity
tax returns.
Accounting proficiency: Strong accounting skills are a plus. You will work with clients from the initial receipt of their information through the completion of the tax return. Being able to analyze and adjust the client’s G/L is important for both consulting and tax advisory services.
Status: This is a full time position.
Credentials: CPA, EA or MST required.
Strong communication skills: You are comfortable talking to a variety of people, whether in person or on the phone. You can write concisely and clearly. Your current position may not involve a lot of client contact. We can help you build skills in this area.
Ability to work independently: We don’t micromanage our employees. You should be able to manage multiple client engagements with light supervision. We will expect you to return client communications promptly and keep partners aware of any issues that arise.
